Posted at findagrave.com: James F. Whicker was born September 14, 1937 in Jackson County and departed this life Monday, September 24, 2012, at his residence in Tyner, being 75 years of age. He was the son of the late Charlie & Della (York) Whicker.
James is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Hays) Whicker of Tyner and by 2 children, Randy Whicker and his wife Teresa of Gray Hawk and Donna Madden and her husband Tim of Tyner. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Wilma Whitehead and her husband J.B. of Tyner and Anna Tankersley and her husband Doug of Annville. James was blessed with 6 surviving grandchildren, Eric Whicker, Falon Whicker, Shanay Medlock, Tiffany Medlock, Tammy Tompson & Nathan Boggs and by a host of great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Whicker; grandson, Chris Whicker and by 2 sisters, Naomi Reece and Dorothy Bates.
James was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral service was held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll de Forest, Bro. Tim Johnson and Bro. Jordan Whitehead officiating. Burial followed in the Hays Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Bowman, Josh & Jon Medlock, Nathan Boggs, Reggie Bates & Dennis Hays.
