On his World War I draft registration card Clarence states he was born at Springfield, [Sarpy County] Nebraska. He works as a farm laborer. He is partially responsible for the support of his mother and sister. This was filled out and signed on June 5, 1917.

At the Otoe Co., Nebraska Gen Web site is a section on men who served in World War I. Snider, Clarence C., Private, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Snider, Palmyra, was born at Pine Camp, [Keya Paha County] Nebraska, October 11, 1887. Entered the service at Camp Funston, Kan., September 5, 1917. Served in France. Machine Gun Company, 355th Infantry. Is now in Army of Occupation. A nice picture of Clarence in his uniform is posted there.

On the 1940 Census of South Palmyra, Otoe Co., Nebraska, Clarence Snider is 52 and single. He works as a caretaker of a cemetery.

Nebraska City News-Press, Tuesday, March 14, 1963, Page 1 Col. 7: Palmyra Veteran of WW I is dead. Palmyra--(N-P)--Arrangements are pending for Clarance C. Snider, World War I veteran of the 355th Machine Gun Company, 89th Division, who died Tuesday morning at the Lincoln Veterans hospital after a long illness. Mr. Snider, who moved to Palmyra at 13, was active in the American Legion. He was born at Springview, Neb., Oct. 11, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Snider. He married Margaret Lyster June 23, 1944. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Thomas, Omaha, and Miss Catheryne Snider, Boise, Idaho, and two sons, Clarence Jr. and Daniel, of Boise. Also surviving are five step children, one grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Gould, Palmyra. He was preceded by his parents, a son, George, and a sister. Tonsing and Wemple in charge.
