The Daily News, Longview, Washington, Tuesday, April 17, 2007: Michael Lee Porteous, 63, of Longview died April 12, 2007. He was born June 11, 1943, in Sacramento, Calif., to Newman S. and Thelma V. (Haven) Porteous and graduated from Calaveras High School in San Andreas, Calif. Mr. Porteous served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2003 as a track inspector, after 32 years with Union Pacific Railroad. He moved to Longview in 2004 from The Dalles, Ore., where he lived for 28 years. He married Sharon Ann Johnson Dec. 20, 1966, in Long Beach, Calif. She survives him. Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa Porteous; a son, Eric Porteous; three brothers, Wallace Porteous, Bonnie Porteous and Ray Porteous; a sister, Tami Cohodes; a granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory.
