Passed away Oct. 8, 2006 peacefully with her family at her side at Mayflower Gardens Convalescent Hospital in Quartz Hill, Calif. She lived over 50 years in Palmdale and raised many children. She retired from Edwards air Force Base in 1969. She was a very kind and gentle woman who opened her home to anyone in need. She was a great woman who loved each and every one of her children and great grand children for who they were. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Whitten in 1939 and George Stone in 1968. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Marcia Main in 1977 and her grandson, Rocky Main in 2004. She leaves behind Connie of Santa Barbara, David of Bakersfield, Debbie (Kevin) MacDonald of Quartz Hill, and Brad (Paula) of Belmont, Massachusetts, 11 of the best grandkids and 11 even more wonderful great grandkids and 1 great-great grandchild. She was an awesome woman who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by every life she touched. Special thanks goes out to those at Mayflower Gardens Convalescent Hospital for all the care and love they gave mom. A visitation will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm Wednesday, October 11, 2006 with a funeral service at 11 am Thursday, October 12, 2006 both at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary in Palmdale.
