Hathaway, 77, of 296 1/2 Merritt St., died today at 5:30 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, following an extended illness. The former Clara L. Besnah, she was born March 4, 1879, in Oshkosh. She was married here on Sept. 26, 1900, to William H. Hathaway, who operated Hathaway Buick Company and Hathaway Oil Company from 1904 until the time of his death in 1944. Surviving are three sons, William D. Hathaway, Muskegon, Mich., Philip E. and Robert C. Hathaway, Oshkosh; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Spikes, McDonald & Harford Funeral Home, with the Rev. James A. Daum, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from Friday at 4 p.m. until the hour of services.
