Posted at findagrave.com: OMAHA - Ruth Elizabeth Clason, 82, of Beaver City died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith Community Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Dobie Weasel officiating. Burial will be at Precept Cemetery at Beaver City.
She was born April 28, 1930, in Oxford to Adolf and Hulda (Johnson) Wasenius. On June 1, 1949, she married Eugene Clason. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Steven Clason and his wife, Rachelle, and Lee Clason, all of Beaver City, and Jim Clason of Kearney; daughters, Ruth Gove and Laura Nelson and her husband, Irvin, all of Kearney, Patty Wolstenholm and her husband, Ross, of York, Bonnie Wright and her husband, Michael, of Stamford and Susan Bayliss of Omaha; brother, Kenneth Wasenius and his wife, Irene, of Oxford; sister-in-law, Clara Wasenius of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Merle Dean Clason and his wife, Juanita, of Beaver City; stepbrothers-in-law, Kenneth Dean Lambert and his wife, Marjory, of Beaver City and Leroy Lambert and his wife, Marjorie, of Miller; 30 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Beaver City High School where she received Normal Training for her teaching certificate. She taught two years at District 8 country school. She and Eugene were lifelong residents of the Precept area southwest of Beaver City. They farmed there all their lives.
She and her husband built the Dairy Queen in Beaver City in 1968 and operated it until 1976 at which time they sold it. She dispatched for Clason Trucking Co. from 1979 to the late 1990s. She and her husband also bought the sale barn in Phillipsburg, Kan., in the mid-1980s and sold it in the late 1990s.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Allen Wasenius.
Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City is in charge of the
arrangements.
