Iowa City, Ia., Nov. 14.---Prof. C. S. He had been connected with the school for over twenty years, and the greater part of the time held a responsible position in the engineering college. He was also city engineer of Iowa City for many years. Professor Magowan became ill with lung trouble over a year ago, and since that time has been in very poor health. On the application of friends he was recently granted a temporary disability allowance of $1,500 by the Carnegie foundations, a fund for the assistance of worthy teachers. Professor Magowan had a wide acquaintance over the state, and his death has caused general sorrow.
