Accusing her husband of cruelty, Mrs. Edna Kirkpatrick, 540 South Fifty-second Street Wednesday filed suit for divorce against Clarence E. Kirkpatrick, live stock commission merchant. Mrs. Kirkpatrick states that last Thursday night at their home he struck her and later"in a public place," near Fifty-ninth and Center streets, used physical violence against her. On New Year's night, 1928, she alleges, he struck and knocked her down at the Fontenelle. Mrs. Kirkpatrick asks four hundred dollars a month temporary alimony. She states that Mr. Kirkpatrick has an income of 25 thousand dollars annually, and that through their joint efforts since their marriage in January, 1921, he has accumulated property worth 100 thousand dollars. He has life insurance of about 20 thousand dollars, she states. There are no children. A. V. Shotwell is attorney for Mrs. Kirkpatrick.

Burial records at Forest Lawn Cemetery indicate that Clarence and Edna were buried the same day. Clarence's obituary was found by the Omaha Public Library.
