Dale Kenneth Kirkpatrick

(26 Jan 1917 - 14 Jun 2009)

The Wichita Eagle, Wichita, Kansas, January 16, 2009: Kirkpatrick, Dale, 91, passed away on January 14, 2009. Dale was born January 26, 1917 in Omaha, NE. He passed away in Wichita, KS at the Kansas Masonic Home. He left this world quietly and humbly with no fanfare or dramatics; as those of us who knew Dale would attest, this is typical Dale. He was there quietly sleeping and breathing comfortable one moment and then was gone. Dale was preceded in death by just about all of his family, 2 wives and a multitude of friends. He is survived by a nephew, Jim Kirkpatrick of Omaha, NE, and an uncounted number of friends. He had no children of his own, but my two sisters, Evelyn Pancake of Omaha, NE, Ellen Gardner of Yuma, AZ; and myself, Mike Weber of Wichita would gladly claim him as a wonderful and caring step-dad. Dale had a sharp mind and caring personality that stayed with him until the end. Though his eyesight was all but gone, he recognized people's voices and remembered things that they had talked about with him. In keeping with Dale's lifestyle, we will have a simple graveside ceremony 10 am, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, NE, where he will lie in his final rest beside his first wife. Dale was not into flowers and such, but was a very religious man. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3416 Woolworth Ave, Omaha, NE 68105-1944. In loving memory of a kind and humble man! Send online condolences to www.cozinememorial.com. Services by Broadway Mortuary.
