Corona Daily Independent, Corona, California, Friday, April 1, 1960, Page 5, Col. 7: A birthday dinner was given for R. A. Clason of Etiwanda Avenue Sunday at the home of his daughter Hettie M. Good. He was 82 years young. Those present besides Mrs. Good were three sons, Marion H. Clason of Westminster, Orville O. Clason of Mira Loma, Horace H. Clason of Riverside and their wives Abbie, Grace and Nellie; grandchildren present were Doris Hartwick and husband Don; Jean Shackelford and husband Don; Faye, Butch, Wayne and Terry Lea Clason; Yvonne Byers and husband Glenn; and William and Lynn Good; great grandchildren present were Paula Hartwick and Michael, Mike, Greg and Gale Byers. Other present were Kenneth Gert, Cheryl and Vicki Tatum. Later Mr. Mason Hampton and daughter, Vera Tatum arrived to extend best wishes.

Rufus Alfred Clason, of 3748 Etiwanda Ave., Mira Loma, custodian at the Eastvale school for a number of years, died suddenly Friday evening at a Riverside hospital. He was 82 and had been in failing health for a year. Guard. Mr. Clason was born March 25, 1878 in Kansas. He came to California from Clayton, N. M. in 1936 and settled in Mira Loma. In addition to serving as custodian of Eastvale School he was also employed as a security guard at the former Corona U. S. Naval Hospital. Survivors. He is survived by four sons, Harry of El Cajon, Marion of Westminster, Orville of Mira Loma and Horace of Riverside; three daughters, Mrs. Adeline Webb of Hollister, Mrs. Hettie Good of Mira Loma and Mrs. Kitty Webb of Modesto; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Eishen of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Bell-Thomas Mortuary Chapel by the Rev. Charles Benson, of the First Church of God. Interment will follow at Sunnyslope Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary.
