Virgil Loyd Clason

Madison Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, Wisconsin, Tuesday, December 16, 1980, Page 33, Col. 1: Black Earth, WI.---Mr. Virgil Loyd Clason, age 73, died on Monday December 15, 1980 at Sauk Prairie Hospital after a lingering illness. Mr. Clason was born Nov. 8, 1907 to Robert George William Clason and Minnie Hellen Fisher Clason. He was married Sept. 6, 1942 to the former Dorothy Huset. Mr. Clason farmed and worked for the University of Wisconsin for many years. Survivors include three sons, Roger of McFarland, David and Robert of Mazomanie; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Brandt of Madison and Mrs. David (Julie) Uselman of Arena; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Daughenbough and Mrs. Hazel Thingvold both of Rockford, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ellen Huset of Black Earth. He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd who died Dec. 5, 1980. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Cross Plains at 1:30 p.m. Rev Herbert Lange will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Black Earth. Friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 17th at the Ellestad Gruber Funeral Home, Black Earth from 4 to 9 p.m.
