Franklin Co., Illinois Area newspaper, date unknown: Edward Kirkpatrick, 74, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 1995, at Franklin Hospital in Benton. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser with the Rev. Woody Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Horse Prairie Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the American Legion Bates Post 560 of Sesser. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was born on March 17, 1921, in Barren Township, to Edmond and Mary (Whitlow) Kirkpatrick. He married Lola Dillon on March 20, 1948, in Benton. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, Bill and Joyce Kirkpatrick of DuQuoin, Jack and Terri Kirkpatrick of Sesser, Joe and Alice Kirkpatrick of Shullsburg, Wis., and Roy Kirkpatrick of Warsaw; three daughters, Jeanetta Kirkpatrick of Virquois, Wis., Cathy Overturf of Mursphysboro, and Joy Kirkpatrick of Blue River, Wis.; two sisters Syble Heiple of DuQuoin and Mary Harriss of Ottumwa, Iowa; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
