Individual Details
Jane Kirkpatrick
(1788 - 1811)
Jane Kirkpatrick, the youngest daughter of Francis and Margaret Kirkpatrick, was born in 1788 in South Carolina, probably in Chester County. In the sale list from her father's estate, Jane is recorded as buying a pot rack for 4 sh. 11 p. and "Jean" Kirkpatrick is recorded as buying a stack of hay for 1 sh 6 p. Whether this is Francis' daughter is, however, questionable, as she would have been only about ten years old at the time. In June of 1798, Jane, along with her brother Samuel and her sister Elanor receive a legacy payment from their father's estate. Jane married John Willis who was born in New Bern, Craven Co., North Carolina, circa 1782-1789.
Jane and John had seven children.
