On 30 Jan 1789, the Court of Chester County, SC, appointed Charles Gillmore guardian for William Thomas Kirkpatrick, orphaned and minor child of Francis Kirkpatrick. William Thomas Kirkpatrick went to Sumner County, Tennessee, after his father's estate was settled, and was surety for the marriage of his sister, Elizabeth to David Demant. (Ref.
