Funeral services were held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at the Horse Prairie Baptist church, near Sesser, for Roy Kirkpatrick, 37, who passed away at the Marshall Browning hospital in Du Quoin Thursday evening at 10:45 following a short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel, and two sons, James Elmer and Ronald Jean, both at home. Also surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Nora Kirkpatrick, three brothers, Leo and Glen of Chicago, and John of Sesser; a half-brother, Edward of Sesser and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Sample or Sesser and Mrs. Sybil Heitle of Du Quoin. Rev. John Maulding and Rev. Leon Fox conducted services. Interment took place in the Horse Prairie cemetery.
