Michael Marion Kirkpatrick of RFD 1, Ina, died at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday at Goode Samaritan Hospital following a long illness. He was 17 years, three months and 12 days old. Last year, via inter-com from the Mt. Vernon Township High School, he was able to complete his sophomore year of studies at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Elk Prairie Christian church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens at Mt. Vernon. The body will lie in state at the Fray Funeral Home in Waltonville, where friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Friday. the youth was born Oct. 8, 1947, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Marion and Norma (Osborn) Kirkpatrick, Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Mark and Steven; three sisters, Sharon, Deborah, and Leah, all at home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Opal Osborn, all of Ina.
