He was a Private in Company C 20th Regiment Mississippi Infantry CSA. He served as a teamster. After the war George moved his family to Lebanon, Missouri. George and his wife, Mary Louise Buchanan, raised eleven children. George made his living as a produce merchant. George Thomas Aycock's father was James Jackson Aycock. James was born 6 Nov 1814 at Oglethorpe, Co., Georgia. James Jackson Aycock's family moved from Georgia to Mississippi some time in the 1840's. He died: 2 May 1887 Montpelier, Clay Co., Mississippi. He is buried in Rocky Hill Cemetery, Clay Co., Mississippi. George's mother was Caroline Dillard Young Aycock. She was born 6 Feb. 1826 in Athens, Clark Co. Georgia. She died 27 Sept. 1904 Montpelier, Clay Co., Mississippi. Caroline is buried in Rocky Hill Cemetery, Clay Co., Mississippi.
