Stokes, 801 East Forty-second street, died today at the home. She had been ill about a year. She was the widow of Thomas R. Stokes, the secretary-treasurer of the United Iron Works company, who died in 1937. She was born in Lebanon, Mo., lived in Springfield, Mo., about twenty years, and moved here in 1918. She leaves a son, George L. Stokes, Memphis; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Owens of the home; four brothers, W. J. Aycock and H. J. Aycock, both of El Reno, Ok.; O. L. Aycock, San Francisco, and R. V. Aycock, 2202 West Sixty-thirds street; two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Tayman, Overland Park, Kas., and Mrs. Robert Morrill, 3627 the Paseo, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 o'clock Friday at the Newcomer chapel, Brush Creek boulevard and the Paseo, and at 9 o'clock at the St. James Catholic church, 3901 Harrison street. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Thursday night at the chapel.
