Thomas D. Martin Jr.
(1 Sep 1827 - 28 Jan 1892)
Posted at findagrave.com: On January 26, 1892 Thomas's life was brought to an abrupt end when his son Jethro murdered him in a fit of rage. The murder is well documented on Jethro's memorial.
Thomas was described as a well-to-do citizen of Martinsburg, an ordained Missionary Baptist preacher, though he was still very much a farmer. He was described as being a straightforward, upright man and was highly respected in the community. He was missed greatly by his family and friends who were shocked by the tragic nature of his passing. He was a son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
