Lyons, 67, Missoula, died of respiratory arrest Monday, April 24 at St. Patrick Hospital following an extended bout with cancer. She was born Dec. 11, 1927, in the Sanders County town of Noxon to Theodore and Lucy Herbert Palmer.

At an early age, she moved to Clinton, east of Missoula and graduated from grade school there. She was a graduate of Missoula County High School. Anna served as secretary to the superintendent of public instruction in Helena, then moved back to Missoula where she was a secretary to the chief surgeon at Northern Pacific Hospital in Missoula.

July 2, 1948, she married Burl Lyons in Missoula. She then became a secretary in the zoology department at the University of Montana. She later lived in Ronan, Columbia Falls and Kalispell white her husband followed his newspaper career. She returned to Missoula in 1972 and later lived for a time in Billings. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Missoula.

Anna is survived by her son, Steve Lyons of Missoula; two daughters, Marilyn Lyons-Pogue and her husband David of Boise, Idaho, and Patty Ordish and her husband, Gary, of Las Vegas, Nev. There are four grandchildren, Wayne and Brian Sundelius of Billings; Robert Charles Ordish of Las Cruces, N. M. and Zachary Ordish of Las Vegas. She is survived by a sister, Sadie Milward of Missoula, and numerous nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, South 10th St. W and Garfield, in Missoula. Inurnment will follow at Missoula City Cemetery. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Squire Simmons & Carr Funeral Home.
