Ravalli (AP) ---The Montana highway fatality toll crept to within six deaths of last year's total Saturday with the death of John Eugene Palmer, 54, East Missoula. Montana Highway Patrol officers said Palmer was killed instantly when his motorcycle collided head-on with a car on U. S. 93 north of Ravalli. The death boosts the Montana highway fatality toll to 170 compared with 176 on Aug. 11, 1973.
