Haslam, a retired major in the U.S. Air Force and a longtime automobile salesman in the Buffalo area. Haslam, 72, of Canandaigua died last week (July 22, 1994) in a Watertown hospital after suffering a stroke. A Kenmore native, Haslam graduated from the University of Maryland and spent 20 years in the Air Force, retiring as a major in 1964. For the next 26 years, he sold automobiles, mostly at Muck Motors. He retired in 1990 and moved to Canandaigua. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Anita Mescall; four sons; Frederick R., John B., Gary C. and Stephen M.; six grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas W.
