The Southern Illinoisan, June 29, 2007: SESSER - Iva Jean White, 70, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Good Samaritan RHC in Mount Vernon. She was born June 17, 1937, in Sesser to Ivan Kirkpatrick and Virginia Bennett. She married Jess W. White on March 26, 1955, and he passed away April 24, 1982. Survivors include children, Jess W. White III and wife, Bobbie, of Gilette, Wyo., Kay L. Kask Du Quoin and Kenneth W. White of Sesser; grandchildren, Jennifer Dilliner of Sesser, Casey Fred of Du Quoin, Lynn Kash Du Quoin, Amanda White of Valier, Kendra Borta of Sesser, Samantha White of Sesser, Emily Martin of Sesser; surviving great-grandchildren, Taylor Dilliner, Katelynn Roznowski, Aaliyah Hawk, Matelyn Fred and two-day-old Jaxon Baxter; brothers and sisters, Tom Kirkpatrick and wife, Flo, of Johnston City and Jo Ann Clarke of De Soto; surviving brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ernest Dickey and wife, Rozella, of Tamaroa, Amon White and wife, Marylinn, of Metropolis and Francis Kirkpatrick of Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death husband; parents; father and mother-in-law, Jess "Whiz" White and wife, Katie; two brothers, Bill and Kenneth Kirkpatrick. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, with Minister Amon White officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state after 6 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2007, at funeral home. She enjoyed playing bingo, camping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
