Bill L. Kirkpatrick Sr.
MOUNT VERNON -- Bill L. Kirkpatrick Sr., 72, of Mount Vernon, died at 9:49 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. Billy was born on Jan. 4, 1932, in Franklin County, to Ivan and Geneva (Bennett) Kirkpatrick. He married Frances Karch on June 1, 1956, in Mount Vernon, and she survives. He worked at Gaunt's TV for 20 years and then operated his own television repair service, Bill's Television Service, until retirement. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Summersville Pentecostal Church and also served on the church board. He loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandson and thought his granddaughters were the most beautiful girls anywhere. Survivors include his wife, Frances Kirkpatrick of Mount Vernon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Jr. and Linda Kirkpatrick and Tony and Pam Kirkpatrick, all of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Tony Kirkpatrick Jr. and fiancee Tabatha Ellis, Jordan Lee Kirkpatrick, Bethany Kirkpatrick and Moriah Kirkpatrick, all of Mount Vernon; one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Flo Kirkpatrick of Johnston City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joann and Gene Clarke of De Soto and Iva Jean White of Sesser; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hughey Funeral Home, with Pastors Junior Karch, Jeff Bond, Jerry Pascarilla and Dwain Huston officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Summersville Pentecostal Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, IL 62864.
