Hicks, 42,. local tailor, was killed shortly after noon today near Fillmore while hunting with two companions, Judge Rodgers and Porter Cotton. Hicks was instantly killed when his gun discharged while he was climbing over a fence on a farm near the Dick Carter estate between Bingham and Fillmore. He is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Denman of Pinckneyville; four children, Donald, Dale, Dorothy and Irene Hicks, all at home; a brother, Arthur of Alton.
