Mrs. Davis, age 80, died peacefully on December 30, 2004. Born July 24, 1924 in Harrington, WA, she was the daughter of Herbert and Hazel Defabaugh. During World War II, Mrs. Davis studied piano performance at Gonzaga University. In her early twenties, she sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church in Spokane, WA, where she met and married her husband, Mr. Ernest Gamble Davis in 1946, who preceded her in death after 43 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed playing bridge, surf fishing, eating fine meals, watching sports on television, and raising their family in Charlotte. In her later years, Mrs. Davis was an avid reader and a caring grandmother. Mrs. Davis is survived in loving memory by her children, Sheryn Milton and her husband, George, of Virginia Beach, VA, Ernest "Buck" Davis, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Charlotte, and Jennifer McKellop and her husband, Michael, of Charlotte; her sister, Cleda Tipton of Seattle, WA; her grandchildren, Christopher Faucette of Lansing, MI, Tiffany Warlick and her husband, Cameron, of Greenville, SC, Allison Dunn and her husband, Mark, of New York, NY, Ashley Ruzga and her husband, David, of Greenville, SC, Sarah Faucette of Grand Rapids, MI, Daniel McKellop and Lauren McKellop, both of Charlotte; and, her great-grandchildren, Taylor Davis and Olivia Warlick, both of Greenville, SC. Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her sisters, Glenna and Dolores. The family will receive friends at Harry and Bryant Company, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte, from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, January 1. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will be in the Forest Lawn West Cemetery afterwards. Harry & Bryant Co. is serving the family of Mrs. Davis.
