The State, Columbia, South Carolina, Wednesday, January 11, 1950, Page 3, Col. 3: Chester, Jan. 10---(Special)---Adam Sandifer Pressley, 82, prominent retired Chester county farmer, died at 9:45 tonight at his home on Pinckney street following several years of ill health. He was born in the western section of Chester county, the son of the late Ira Pressley and Martha Darby Pressley. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Delia Kirkpatrick Pressley, two daughters, Mrs. R. Frank Hayes of Chester and Mrs. Chester R. Taylor of Spartanburg; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Claudia Pressley Sanders of York, and two brothers, Tim Pressley of York and John Templeton Pressley of Chester. Mr. Pressley was a steward in the New Hope Methodist church. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
