Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, Iowa, Sunday, November 18, 2007: MADISON, Wis. - Ronald F. Dobson, 69, of Madison, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at home. Services will be at noon Monday at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, with the Rev. Kent Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Madison. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. The Cress Funeral Service, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, is in charge of arrangements. He was born on March 7, 1938, in Milwaukee, son of Fay G. and Velma L. (Blum) Dobson. He married Sheron Trenary on Feb. 13, 1960, in Montfort; she preceded him in death on June 9, 1999. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Ron operated Ron's Sewing Center in Watertown, managed the Total Petroleum Station and Ken's Truck Stop in Madison. He was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. Ron enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Packers. He loved fishing, gardening and most of all dining out with his family. Surviving are three sons, Kevin (Liz) Dobson and Mark (Carrie) Dobson, both of Madison, and Scott (Heather) Dobson, of McFarland; three grandchildren, Nichole, Caitlin and Brent Dobson; a sister, Linda Appenzeller, of Platteville; and a sister-in-law, Karen (Lloyd) Yelinek, of Livingston. He also was preceded in death by his parents, Velma, in 2007, and Fay, in 2003; and his mother-in-law, Verna Trenary in 2004.
