Louis Charles Bourdet was born in Walnut, California on August 27, 1917. He graduated from La Puente High School in 1936 and was in the first graduating class at Cal Poly Pomona, Voorhies Campus. Louis Bourdet served 25 years with the Los Angeles County Fire Department and until recently was on the L.A. County Fire Dept. Retirees Board of Directors. He was an a ctive local historian, a past-president and life member of the La Puente Valley Historical Society, a past president of the Associated Historical Societies of L.A. County, a long time board member and life member of the Conference of California Historical Societies, and a life member of the Historical Society of Centinela Valley and of the Los Angeles City Historial Society. Louis passed away quietly at home on Sunday night, January 5, at the age of 85. Louis is survived by his wife, Christie Miles Bourdet, his son, Timothy Charles Bourdet, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 9th, at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of St. John of God Care Center, 2456 S. St. Andrew's Place, Los Angeles. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 10th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 550 N. Glendora, La Puente. Interment private.
