(Veva Mae) Duke, 67, were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of God here with Reverend Don Anderson, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Duke died in a Muskogee hospital Monday. Born September 21, 1899, Mrs. Duke had lived most of her life in Eufaula. Survivors include her husband, C. C. Duke of the home; five sons, Charles of Eufaula, Vernon on Delano, California, Dale of Eufaula, and Bertice and Dean both of Oklahoma City; two daughters Mrs. Pauline Wilson of Muskogee, and Mrs. Mildred Palmer of Littlefield, Texas; 21 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Homer Cowan of Eufaula and Herman (Dutch) Cowan of Wichita, Kansas; and three sisters, Mrs. Julia Armstrong of Arvin, California, Mrs. Jesse Norman of Stockton, California, and Mrs. Maude Tilley of Colorado City, Texas. Bearers were Walter Flood, J. C. Flood, Buel Brown, Floyd Johnson, Ted Chapman, and Gene Paul Hallum. Burial was in the Mellette Cemetery under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home.
