Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Cowan was born on Dec. 25, 1927 in Lena, OK. He was a resident of Piedmont, OK for the past 13 years and was a former Pampa resident. Married to Billye Rea on Oct. 7, 1948 in Seminole, OK. She passed away on Sept. 25, 1995. Worked for Flint Engineering for 33 years, retiring in 1987. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during peacetime. Survivors: 1 daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Bill Simon of Pampa; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Cindy Cowan of Miami, Texas; 2 brothers, Milam Cowan and Carlon Cowan, both of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; 1 sister, Colleen Courtney of Wewoka, OK.; and 6 grandchildren. Memorials to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or the building fund at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, Oklahoma.
