Lexington Clipper-Herald, Lexington, Nebraska, April 27, 2002: Memorial services for Lawrence A. Klein, 81, of Lexington will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at the Evangelical Free church in Lexington, with Pastor Duane Russell officiating. A private family burial will be held prior to the memorial service at the Greenwood Cemetary in Lexington. Visitation for the public will be Sunday, April 28, 2002, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. He died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas. He was born Feb. 22, 1921, at Callaway to George and Minnie (Reed) Klein. Lawrence moved with his family to Lexington in 1927 where he attended school. He married Viva Fish on Nov. 14, 1939, at Lexington. The couple made their home in Lexington. They had four sons, Larry, Tom, David and Terry. Lawrence farmed until 1973, then drove trucks in the Lexington area. Lawrence attended the Evangelical Free Church in Lexington and served one term on the District 15 school board. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving trucks and working. He loved visiting with people and spending time with his family. Survivors include: his wife, Viva Klein, of Lexington; sons, Larry (Marge) Klein of Greeley, Colo., Tom (Marilyn) Klein of Funk, David Klein of Waco and Terry (Sandy) Klein of Beaver City; sisters, Velma Hammond, Vera Brummet and Marie Marsh, all of Lexington; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrange-ments.
