Albert G. Tierney, 85, of 277 Ocean av. and Delrey Beach, Fla., a retired Boston lawyer, died in the Mary A. Alley Hospital here yesterday after a brief illness. Born in Boston, he was a longtime resident of Waban before moving to Marblehead several years ago. Mr. Tierney maintained a private law firm in the Boston area for more than 50 years. A Navy veteran of World War I, he served aboard a submarine chaser off the New England coast, and was on the Newton draft board during World War II. Mr. Tierney was a member of the Boston Bar Assn., the Massachusetts Bar Assn., the Corinthian Yacht Club and the Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead. He leaves his wife, Myrtle (Curtin); two sons, Philip of McLean, Va., and Albert G. Tierney Jr. of Boston; and seven grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be said tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church. Burial will be private.
