Wesley Belden Baldwin

Garden City Telegram, Garden City, Kansas, Monday, February 10, 1964, Page 2, Col. 3: Syracuse---Wesley B. Baldwin, 78, long-time Syracuse resident, died Saturday in Trinity Hospital in Dodge City from injuries received in a car-train accident near Downs Jan. 2.

He was born Aug. 1, 1885, at Jamestown and had lived here 30 years. He was a retired rancher who had moved to Hamilton County from Finney County in 1928. He was married at Randall Jan. 3, 1906. Mr. Baldwin was a member of the Garden City Baptist Church. Survivors include the widow, Ethel; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Graves, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Lola Finkenbinder, Mrs. May Horning and Mrs. Arlene Hinkle, all of Syracuse; two sons, Orville and Lester, both of Syracuse; two sisters, Mrs. May Lewis, Topanga, Calif., and Mrs. Bertha Snyder of Parsons; a brother, John C., Sacramento, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. (MST) in the Pilgrim Holiness Church at Syracuse with the Revs. James Gray and Robert H. Heckart officiating. Burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery.
