Posted at findagrave.com: George William Bud" Hays, of Rains Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky. He was 66 years, 8 months and 5 days of age. Bud was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on January 17, 1943 and was the son of the late George Hays and Opal Johnson Hays. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gillis Davis, and his mother-in-law, Virgie Davis. Survivors are his wife, Joyce Davis Hays of Williamsburg, Kentucky; a son, Kevin S. Hays (Cathy) of Williamsburg; two granddaughters, Melissa Sutton and Alexis Hays, both of Williamsburg; a sister, Nannie Hays of Williamsburg, a brother, Thomas Hays (Joan) of Newark, Ohio; his uncle, Thomas Junior Hays (Ola) of Williamsburg; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Visitation was held after 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Croley Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Doyle Lester and the Reverend Fred Powers officiating. Burial followed in the Highland Park Cemetery, Davis Addition, Williamsburg, Kentucky.
