Wayne Ennis Campbell

Wayne E. Campbell, 74, died Thursday, October 31, 1991, at his home. The funeral was Monday, November 4, 1991 at 10:00 a.m. at McVay Memorial Chapel with Pastors Larry Viter and Arthur McEntire officiating. Interment was at Grandview Cemetery with military rites at the graveside by the Gothenburg Firing Squad. Music was provided by Larry Viter and Doris Geiken, organist. Casket bearers were Paul Payne, Jim Payne, Robert Bullock, Brian Bullock, John Scott and Junior Magana. Wayne Ennis, son of Sidney E. and Jane (Cheevers) Campbell, was born March 5, 1917 near Gothenburg. He graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1936. He farmed for many years near Gothenburg, and worked at Monroe Auto Equipment Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1964. Survivors include two sons, Jack E. of Arlington, VA and Lee of Gothenburg; two daughters, Gerry Payne of Lincoln and Peggy Craig of Junction City, KS; one brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Norma Campbell of Gothenburg, one sister, Norie (Mrs. Frank) Manners of Gothenburg; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother. A memorial has been established.
