Southeastern Missourian, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Friday, March 18, 1983, Page $, Col. 4 & 5: Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Looney Kirkpatrick, of Cape Girardeau, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Walter's Funeral Home here. The Rev. John Owen pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate, and burial will be at Memorial Park. Mrs. Kirkpatrick, 92 years old, died Tuesday in the Cape Nursing Center (Formerly Cape LaCroix Manor). She was born Oct. 27, 1890, at Oak Ridge. Mrs. Kirkpatrick graduated from the Old Normal School, now Southeast Missouri State University and taught 15 years in Southeast Missouri. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and its DOW Bible Class. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Frank Kirkpatrick in 1952. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Julia Ann Nakahira, Pearl City, Hawaii, and two grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight. Pallbearers will be Paul Anderson, Joseph J. Russell, Earl Kessler, Glenn Hutson, Raymond Sheets and George Staley.
