William Lemmon

Came to American colonies on the good ship Welcome in the mid-1750's with his wife (name unknown), five sons, and one daughter, from County Tyrone, Ireland. Sons were William, Thomas, James, John, Robert, and the daughter's name was Mary Ann. According to Robert Lemon's Revolutionary War Pension Application, William served in the Revolution along with all his sons. At one point, Robert mentions that his father had settled on the plantation of George Crawford in Cumberland Co. The Robert Lemon line has almost always spelled the name with only one 'M'. - C.S.
