Ellis, 97, formerly of Alterra Wynwood, died Friday, November 3, 2006, at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center after a brief illness. She was born in McKee, KY. Christine had lived most of her adult life in the Washington, DC area before relocating to Schenectady in 1996 to be near her daughter and son-in-law. Christine is survived by her daughter, Barbara Grasier and her husband, Roger of Niskayuna; two grandsons, Robert Grasier and his wife, Yuko of California, and Glen Grasier and his wife, Nesdelia of North Carolina; one great-granddaughter, Megumi Grasier of California; one brother, R. Bruce Hays; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Eugene Schlatter in 1968 and her second husband, Warren Ellis in 1992. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Russell, Earl and Edward Hays. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Sunday, November 5th at 4 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St. (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. A calling hour will be from 3 p.m. to the time of the service for those who wish to call. Burial will be at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Salvation Army in Christine's memory.
