Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, Grand Junction, Colorado, April 8, 1966, Page 3: William F. Kirkpatrick, 72, of Route 1, Delta, died at 12:04 a.m. today in Veterans Hospital. He had been a patient there for 27 days. Mr. Kirkpatrick, a farmer, had lived in Delta for 20 years. Earlier, he had lived in Denver, the San Luis Valley, Los Angeles, Seattle and Alaska. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was born at Fort Worth, Tex., on Sept. 6, 1894, and spent his early life at Sulphur Springs, Tex. He served with the infantry in France and Germany during World War I. He married Thelma Davis at Delta in 1944. An earlier marriage, to Alberta Davis, ended in divorce. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Robert of West Virginia, and Thomas and John Kirkpatrick, both of Delta; a sister, Mrs. Robert Knapp and one grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Martin's Chapel. The Rev. William A. Bowden will officiate. Burial will be in Veterans Cemetery with graveside services conducted by World War I veterans.
