Mr. and Mrs. John Hosier celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with an "open house" on Sunday [May 31, 1950] for their families and closest friends. Hazel Hurm and John Hosier were married at St. Rafaels Cathedral in Dubuque, Iowa on June 3, 1925. They resided in Rockford and Winnebago County before moving to Ogle County 12 years ago. The Hosiers have 7 children and 6 grandchildren. Their children are: John, Ft. Dix, N.J.; Mrs. Henry Crow; Mrs. Robert Katke, Rockford; Richard Hosier with the air corps stationed in Mississippi; Roger, Wayne and Donald all at home.

Hazel T. Hosier, 79, 305 Monroe Street, Oregon, died on Monday, April 5th in her home following an apparent heart attack. She was born on October 19th, 1902, in Lansing, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Kathryn (Randolph) Hurm. She was married to John S. Hosier on June 3rd, 1925 in Dubuque, Iowa and he preceded her in death on December 23rd, 1968. Mrs. Hosier was also preceded in death by seven brothers. She lived in Oregon for the past 44 years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was the homemaker for St. Mary's Rectory. Survivors include five sons, John of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Richard of Arroyo Grande, California, Roger of Winnebago, Wayne of Falls Church, Virginia and Donald of Delhi, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Leola) Crow, Rockford and Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Katke of Stillman Valley; 41 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Rundle and Mrs. Hilda Conger, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a. m. on Thursday in Farrell-Holland Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony J. Becker, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening in Farrell-Holland Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
