Charles Vanus Kirkpatrick was born 11 February 1918 at San Gabriel, Milam County, Texas. He married 14 November 1939 to Nina Ruth Stiles.
There were two children born to the marriage.

Kirkpatrick of Austin, brother of Dr. Roy Kirkpatrick of Taylor, died Tuesday in an Austin hospital at the age of 59. Kirkpatrick was born in the San Gabriel community near Taylor of Feb. 11, 1917, and had made his home in Austin for the past 21 years. He was employed by Hoffman paint Co. He was a member of the Shettles Memorial United Methodist Church in Austin, a 32nd degree Mason and a veteran of World War II.
In 1937 he was married to Nina Stiles who survives him. Others surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Malcolm (Rebecca) Fox and a son, Jeff Kirkpatrick, both of Austin; three sisters, Dr. Marjorie Ruth Kirkpatrick of Rockport, Mrs. John (Barbara) Hannan of Dallas and Mrs. Bob (Kathryn) Mitchell of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, Dr. Roy Kirkpatrick of Taylor; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor with the Rev. Charles E. Runk officiating and with burial in Taylor City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dr. William K. Thompson, Jack Stiles, Frank Stiles, Jim F. Elliott, David L. Ling, Don Ling Jr. and Bill Kirkpatrick.
