Lancaster--- Mrs. Mosteller, age 77, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2004 in Atlantic Beach, FL. She was born August 12, 1927, in Chester County, SC the daughter of the late Charles Samuel Caskey, Sr. and Margaret Louise Kirkpatrick Caskey and was the beloved wife of 38 years to the late Cecil West Mosteller. Mrs. Mosteller grew up in Lancaster, SC but lived throughout the southeast including Tampa, FL, Jacksonville, FL and the Washington, DC area. Mrs. Mosteller was an accomplished artist with 2 one-woman shows in Lancaster, SC and 1 in Jacksonville Beach. She was a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, a member of Beaches Fine Arts Guild, a patron of the Beaches Art Center, and a member of the Jacksonville Watercolor Society. She was a member of DAR, and felt that one of her most fulfilling life accomplishments was being a pioneering force in establishing and serving the Jacksonville Meals on Wheels Program and also was a charter member of Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Mosteller is survived by a son, Cecil Leslie Mosteller and his wife Olga of Jacksonville Beach, FL; her daughters, Patti M. Davis and her husband Carey S. of Houston, TX, and Susan M. Boyd and her husband Richard B. of Gainesville, GA; 4 sisters, Sara C. Baker and her husband Harry of Charlotte, NC, Margaret C. Beckham of Lancaster, SC, Betty C. Adams of Lancaster, SC and Carolyn C. Mahaffey and her husband Jack of Charlotte NC; 4 grandchildren, Tyler West Mosteller of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Gabriel Mosteller of Jacksonville, FL, Richard McKinnon 'Mack' Boyd of Gainesville, GA, and Dillon Caskey Davis of Houston, TX; 2 great aunts, Sudie Kirkpatrick McKelvey of Easley, SC and Maude Kirkpatrick Carter of Cherryville, NC; and her dearest friend, Elaine B. Good of Lancaster. Mrs. Mosteller was preceded in death by her first born infant son, brothers, Charles S. Caskey, Jr. and David L. Caskey, and her brothers-in-law, M. Poovey Beckham and M. Cecil Adams.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Mosteller will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6th at Douglas Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, SC by Rev. Andy Hart and Rev. Paul Evans of Gainesville, GA with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family of Mrs. Mosteller will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5th, 2004 at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC.
