The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, Friday, March 15, 1996: Chester---Mrs. Frances Davis Sanders, 90, of 128 West End, died March 14, 1996, at Springs Memorial Hospital. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Burial is in Chester Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. today at the residence, 128 West End, Chester. Mrs. Sanders was born in Chester, daughter of Arthur Wilson Davis and Ellen Brennan Walker Davis. She graduated from Chester High School and was a homemaker and member of Chester First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Board of Directors Chester Telephone Company, member of Eastern Star Chapter #15, member of Pink Ladies Volunteers, the DAR and the UDC. She was a Member of TEL Sunday School Class, active in WMU, an active gardner and member of the Friday Gardners and spent many years buying and selling antiques and settling estates. She was active in both civic and volunteer organizations all of her married life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hardin Sanders. Survivors include her son, John Davis Sanders of Brandon, FL; two daughters, Joe Ellen Bremer of Athens, GA, Frankie Haverty of Dunwoody, GA; one sister, Mary Ellen Davis of Chester; one brother, H. Ross Davis of Seneca; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Frances Sanders Memorial Fund, c/o Chester County Hospital, Great Falls Highway 97, Chester, SC 29706. Barron Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
