Hattie Elizabeth Yongue was born 16 September 1910. On 31 March 1933 she married L. G. Edwards of Fort Lawn, Chester County, South Carolina. He died 21 May 1967 and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Fort Lawn, Chester County, South Carolina.

Funeral service is 2 pm Wednesday at the Fort Lawn Presbyterian Church. Rev. Kenneth L. Barnes, Rev. Neil Yongue, and Rev. Pam Ledbetter officiating. Burial is in Elmwood Cemetery, Fort Lawn. Mrs. Edwards was born in Chester County. She was a daughter of the late Neil Malone and Sallie Elizabeth Kirkpatrick Yongue and the widow of Lucius Gaston Edwards, Jr. She was a homemaker and had served as a substitute Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service. She was a member of the Fort Lawn Presbyterian Church, a member of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens at Harmony Baptist Church, a member of the Fort Lawn Senior Citizens and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include, daughter, Mrs. John R. (Sara) Rumford of Fort Lawn; son, James G. ''Jim'' Edwards of Fort Lawn; sister, Mrs. Louis Carpenter of Fort Lawn; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Fort Lawn Presbyterian Church, c/o Irene Yongue, 5208 Lancaster Highway, Fort Lawn, SC 29714.
