North Mississippi Daily Journal, Tupelo, Mississippi. Houston -- John S. Criddle, 81, died Thursday, October 7, 1999 at his home after a long illness. He was a native of Chickasaw County. He was a Baptist and a retired farmer. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Southern Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gene O'Brian officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Audie Dee Criddle; three daughters, Sarah Ann Gillikin of Ruther Glen, Va., Billie Wynn McNaughton of Palm Bay, Fla., and Sandra C. Morris of West Point; five sons, Jimmy M. Criddle of Verona, Shelton Clark Criddle of Castalian Springs, Tenn., John D. Criddle of Malabar, Fla., Davis A. Criddle of Houston and Joe Dallas Criddle of Sparta; one sister, Zula Warnick of Houston; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Davis Criddle, Jr., Danny A. Criddle, Joshua W. Criddle, John C. Edwards, Kirkham Dendy and James Robert Criddle. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Boyer, Dr. Gore, Sam Smith, Pie Peel, Leon Houser, Jimmy Simmons, John A. Porter and Bobby Smith. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
