The Benton Courier, Benton, Arkansas, January 7, 2004: Mary Jane Allinson of Bauxite died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004. She was 73. She was born Dec. 8, 1930. Allinson attended Arkansas State Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas) and was a teacher for the Bauxite School District. She was later employed in the bakery at Wal-Mart in Benton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Annie Stone Kidd; and a brother, Gean Kidd of Odessa, Texas. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Boyd Allinson; a daughter and son-in-law, Gay and Derek Leaver; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Ginger Allinson and David and Paula Allinson; a brother, retired Maj. William J. Kidd of Bauxite; a sister, Boise Reaves of Bauxite; and seven grandchildren, Haley, Michael, Marybeth, Jacob and Mark Allinson and Allison and Chelsea Leaver. The funeral was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund. Family comments: She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. In her youth, she played basketball at Bauxite High School, and continued to be an enthusiastic Miners fan her entire life. She always loved gardening, camping, and watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting and special events.
