(Mrs. Wayne) Schambow, 50, of Platteville, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, following a brief illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville, with the Rev. Dean Einerson, of the Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Whig Cemetery, rural Platteville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Mrs. Schambow worked at the Century Tel telephone office in Platteville for 28 years, most recently as a business service representative. She was born on Aug. 6, 1950, in Dubuque, daughter of Ernest "Doc" and Genevieve (Kies) Culver. She married Wayne J. Schambow on Nov. 26, 1998. She graduated from Platteville High School in 1968 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Platteville. She will be remembered as an excellent vocalist. She enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially hiking and backpacking. Surviving are her husband, Wayne, of Platteville; two children, Joseph Oates, of Platteville, and Jayne (Gary) Sanders, of Sun Prairie, and their father, Gary Oates, of Platteville; two stepsons, Daniel Schambow, of Wauwatosa, and Benjamin Schambow, of Platteville; her parents, Ernest "Doc" and Genevieve Culver, of Platteville; a brother, the Rev. Carson (Marilyn) Culver, of Richland Center; a sister, Susan Culver, of West Branch, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
