Cobb---Charles Royce Bishop, age 70, died in his sleep, Sunday morning, January 10, 1993, at his home outside of Cobb, Wisconsin. He was born in rural Cobb on April 14, 1922, the son of Charles and Anita (Dixon) Bishop. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Biddick on December 21, 1944, in Madison. Charles enjoyed managing his family's farming enterprise since returning to Cobb from the Air Force in March 1948. He served as president of C. R. Bishop and Sons, Inc. since 1971 and enjoyed associating with a wide range of friends and business associates. Charles spent six years in the service of his country and retired as a captain in the United States Air Force. He flew eight combat missions, was shot down and bailed out over Europe; received the Air Medal, a letter of Commendation for setting up a Separation Center at Truax Field in Madison, and spent two years in the Pentagon as an assistant administration officer.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Barbara (John) Boldt of Bristol, Wisconsin, and Ellen of Phoenix, Arizona; three sons, Bradley and Robert (Linda) of Cobb, and Brian "B.J." of Elmhurst, Illinois; five grandchildren, Amy and Adam Boldt, and Aaron, Andrew and Amber Bishop; a sister, Sandra (Art) Heuer of Cobb; and a brother, Truman Bishop of Austin, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anita in 1963 and Charles in January 1968.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 13, 1993, at 2:00 P.m., at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home, Montfort. Friends may call from noon until time of service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cobb, where military graveside rites will be accorded.
