Bishop, age 86, of Cobb, died on Saturday evening, Nov. 20, 2010, at the Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. She was born on Dec. 14, 1923, in Montfort, the daughter of Charleton and Hazel (Kirkpatrick) Biddick. Marilyn married Charles Royce Bishop on Dec. 23, 1944. Marilyn is survived by her children, Bradley Bishop of Cobb, Barbara and her husband John Boldt of Bristol, Robert and his wife Linda Bishop of Cobb, Ellen and her husband Bob Kesler of Phoenix, Ariz., and Brian and his wife Susan Bishop of Stanley, N.C.; and her eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jack Biddick of Janesville; her sister-in-law, Sandra (Art) Heuer; brother-in-law, Truman Bishop; and cousins, Jeanette, Dorothy and Jimmy (Carol) Kirkpatrick. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Royce on Jan. 10, 1993; and her sisters-in-law, Leona Biddick and Jean Smith. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2010, at the Cobb United Methodist Church in Cobb with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Cobb. Pastor Gary Benzschawel will be officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church on Wednesday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the UW-Platteville Foundation-Iowa Grant Community Scholarship Fund in loving memory of Marilyn M. Bishop. The Soman-Larson Funeral Home of Montfort is assisting the family.
